Select Codex in the switcher above and hit Download — Codex-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple silicon) or Codex-Windows-x64.zip (Windows x64, portable build).
The Windows build is a portable zip — there's no installer. Unzip it anywhere (a folder like C:\Program Files\Codex works fine), then double-click Codex.exe. Right-click it → Send to → Desktop (create shortcut) for easy access.
Sign-in is the only step: it walks you through the login flow, same on both platforms. Windows may show SmartScreen's "Windows protected your PC" — click More info → Run anyway. On macOS, fix the unsigned-build notice with xattr -cr "/Applications/Codex.app".
Claude
Anthropic's official desktop client. Drag in long documents, screenshots, and MCP tools — built for reading and writing.
Select Claude in the switcher above and hit Download — Claude-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple silicon) or Claude-win-x64.exe (Windows x64).
Run the installer, open the app, and sign in — that's it. The same Magi account works across all three clients, so there's nothing else to set up.
Also unsigned. If Gatekeeper blocks it, run xattr -cr "/Applications/Claude.app" and reopen.
FreeClaude
A lighter client that starts fast and stays out of the way. Claude models, no key wiring, one less app to manage.
Select FreeClaude in the switcher above and hit Download — FreeClaude-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple silicon) or FreeClaude-win-x64.exe (Windows x64).
Open the app, hit Sign in to FreeClaude, and you're routed back automatically once you're signed in or registered. After that it behaves like any other Claude client.
Unsigned too — if Gatekeeper complains, run xattr -cr "/Applications/FreeClaude.app" and reopen.
Codex++
Codex++ is an enhanced launcher and manager for the official Codex desktop app. It adds provider switching, protocol conversion, session management, and UI upgrades — without touching the official app package.
Grab the packaged build with the Codex++ button above (select Codex first), or pull the latest upstream from the releases page — Windows CodexPlusPlus-*-windows-x64-setup.exe, macOS CodexPlusPlus-*-macos-x64.dmg (Intel) or CodexPlusPlus-*-macos-arm64.dmg (Apple silicon).
Two entries appear: Codex++ silently launches the official app with your saved config, and Codex++ Manager handles providers, models, sessions, updates and diagnostics. Open the Manager first, verify the app path, configure a provider, then launch via Codex++.
Builds are unsigned, so Gatekeeper may warn you. If it does, run xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Codex++.app" and apply the same command to the Manager entry, then reopen.
Codex++ is a separate open-source project (AGPL-3.0) maintained by its own releases. Magi ships the three clients; the Codex++ toolkit comes from the link above.
